I like the idea of shifting gears when an instructor realizes something is not working. This can be done successfully without altering the content of the course, but shifting gears may help students feel a bit more of community and become more engaged.
I learned that successful instructors create a supportive, warm, and caring environment that fosters mutual respect, collaboration, and a sense of community. They set high expectations, are enthusiastic, and lead by example. They are also adaptable, willing to change their teaching approach based on student needs, and always focus on professional development.
