Creating A Strong Compliance Plan
In concert with the proactive involvement of the triad, in your opinion, what critical elements and/or components constitute a strong compliance plan?
In developing a strong compliance plan it is important that we understand that compliance = quality control and is not and should not be considered the necessary evil, but rather a support for continual improvement and quest for excellence. A strong compliance program and plan needs to be reviewed annually and needs to be part of the budgeting process. Key elements are mandatory compliance training and attestations; internal audits and campus visits; monitoring of telephone inquiries; monitoring of interviews, tours, and financial plans; graduate employment verifications (other than those conducted by school’s career services staff); and a compliance hotline.
