Team roles can be natural, although you may shift position within the team. Thought Oriented, Action Oriented, and People Oriented team members are all necessary for success.
Being adaptive within your team can help lead to success. You may see yourself as a delegator but then realize another team member is a bit stronger in those areas leaving you do find another role but also fulfill your personal and professional needs.
Fostering a growth mindset within teams can help students embrace challenges and learn from mistakes.

I appreciate Dr. Belbin's 9team roles broken into three categories. I also see how the follow Benjamin Blooms taxonomy.
1. Action Oriented (Behavioral/psychomotor)
2. People Oriented (Affective)
3. Cerebral Oriented (Cognitive)
It is effective when you are aware that every team member has a different role and you'll be successful when allowing each to act in their role accordingly.

I had never considered the various roles that team members play. I wish there were printable quizzes or team building activities that that were provided to help teams find out who finds which roles most relateable.
I found Dr. Belbins three categories of team roles and "allowable weaknesses" to be enlightening and provided a positive and thought provoking insight into the 'inner' workings-needs of a team. The whole idea of "allowable weakness" within the dynamics of a team is realistic and proactive.
