I didn't realize the significance of reporting the details behind where a graduate goes after college. I got a heightened sense of the need for accurate reporting.

This module showed the importance of Career Services to support graduates in their career success. It highlighted how having accurate data for employment to help students during their college search is important and also allows for institutions to keep their funding while improving education and employment support for students/graduates.

Through this training module, I learned how crucial documentation is to the accreditation process. I understand lack of that documentation can negatively impact the institution's accreditation. I also learned that gainful employment can have a different meaning to people. However, government entities are most interested in the student debt to salary ratio. This can affect our funding and what programs we offer to students.

One of the highlights that surprised me is the fact not every teaching entity reports employment outcomes.

Collecting accurately is crucial because it gives insight to future students.

Accreditation is essential so that the college is identified as a legit school that follows guidelines.

I realized the employment reporting isn't just for my own university or my own use, it plays a part in funding, evaluating program effectiveness, and our students becoming gainfully employed.

I agree with many of these takeaways. I had not fully grasped the impact of reporting and tracking "gainful employment" data both at graduation and beyond.

Get employment verification ASAP in order to keep records current.
