Communicating

Communiation is the foundation for success.  It is important that your communication be clear and concise, state your purpose early, and do not over complicate things.

What I learned

A well written document is important.

Challenges

Challenges come in all shapes and sizes, a big must is to engage the students at all times. Some students are hard to engage due to personal issues and some have learning difficulties, and class time is so limited.

Challenges in the Classroom

Challenges I've found in the classroom for students are staying focused and motivated. Every Student has their own story, their own struggles and sometimes it could be extremely hard for them to get motivated to come to class. We have to keep them excited and wanting to come to class by keeping them engaged.

Challenges

I find it challenging to keep students engaged due to the ,limited amount of time we have in class. the students want to be working on assignments because they are also very limited to homework time. So I find it easier to ask them to pick a topic from curriculum and have me discus and go over that so they are actually interested in the lecture.

Presentation

I learned today that it's best to look over your presentation, and practice the delivery. It will help with any kind of anxiety and help answer questions the audience may have.

Engagement

Fair and Just!

During years of management in different countries with different cultural background, I've found out fairness and being just to team members is the best resolution for so many conflicts.

A democratic Manager; Obstacles and resolutions

As a person with very team oriented and democratic mindset, it is always a challenge to pursuit everybody in the team to get the follow my instructions and keep them satisfied in all the occasions. This style of management helps to avoid conflicts and create less negative interactions in the work environment, but make the team to feel that they can never expect dissatisfaction, and expectations from the manager, so it create moments of unexplainable accusation and reactions from the team.

Communicating Beyond Words

I would have liked more skills.  Mirroring, ways to convey information, etc. But, it was well laid out and easy to follow.

Providing Feedback for Results

I have been in a management position for quite a while. The information in the Providing Feedback lesson unit isn't already something that I have not already heard but it never hurts to reinforce our knowledge and be prompted to examine our methods. After a time we can fall into doing things a certain way and growth happens when we reflect on what we do and open ourselves to accepting change and improving ourselves.

The aspect of this that resonated the most with me was the part about just stating behavior observations and not offering advice right away. Aid in… >>>

great course

Formalizing an understanding of conflict is really helpful. Give structure to conversations and makes the learning easier to share with others.

Feedback

When giving student feedback, I will make sure to give it in a timely manner and be focused on specific issues.  This will allow for the communication to be direct and concise, but also allow for the student to have time to correct any mistakes or errors in a timely fashion.

Feedback

Feedback is important for both parties involved.  You should actively listen to what the person giving the feedback is stating without emotion. Ask questions if you don't understand what they mean by their feedback.

Fostering an Innovative Work Environment

Sometimes when you are working with a group, you can read a person based off their body language and their nonverbal signs. if you are able to read that, then you can understand how they are doing.

If you take your time, then you have a better chance of not making mistakes.

Personally, I always double check the things I do to prevent mistakes.

And I always encourage the people I am with to help motivate them

Listening

Listen with the intent to understand what someone is saying as well as dealing with. Avoid speaking before you have listened truly.

Clear Communication

Making sure information that is provided is clear and concise.  This will allow for ideas and communication to be more effective.

writing

be short, direct, and to the point when sending emails.

Presenting

Be confident in what you're presenting. Know the audience in which you are presenting. Give facts and adequate information to the audience you are presenting. Ask questions as well as encourag your audience to engage in asking questions.

feedback and how you handle it

Being able to listen to criticism and feedback from other people, is really important. if you listen and learn from it, then it can benefit you. you can learn and grow from it.

i also accept feedback because I want to learn from it so I can grow form it.

If I do not understand some of the things that I am being told, then I will ask for clarification so I can understand what they are saying
