For the experienced instructor this is a realistic and informative learning tool.
This course iterates that many people have been out of school for a length of time and that instructors need to be aware of that. It also provided valuable ideas of how to deal with various situations as well as teaching how to be aware of areas that may be troublesome for instructors. Great course!
This course helped by mentioning several important components of classroom management and areas that all instructors need to concentrate on. It provides real examples of things that we need to consider when dealing with a very diverse population of students.

Learning is student centered, by repetition, conveyed using variable grammar and vocabulary, and incorporating students' interests; hopefully resulting in a comfortable learning environment limiting disciplinary issues. I won't forget my non-verbal cues and communication.
This online course brought many techniques to me on stress factors and how to deal wit, reduce or eliminate them. Some can be restuctured to be lass stressful.

I have recently transitioned from the classroom and clinical setting to simulation. So application is a bit different. I believe I can still apply some of the recommendations such as informing students of the outline for the day and expectations while in simulation. I will also provide a posterboard with the concepts we will be covering that they have learned that term as a guidelline
I believe the best course of action going forward for me as an instsructor is to movtive my students with my real world experencies by giving them examples that they an use and relates to the course content..

As a relatively new instructor, I gained much knowledge on classroom management skills and will be utilizing them daily.
During the first day of the term, the syllabus will be read, a set of class expectations will be introduced and this will help get the students acclimatized to a fast pace environment. During the first week and after the students have a well-structured idea of the class, short term and long term goals will be identified allowing the student to start experiencing success from the very first term, which will help them build confidence for the next set of terms. Because our field of education is unique, based on the fact that our student population is so diverse (not just in age, but knowledge base and learning styles differ greatley), creating learning teams that don't result in "clicks" is key. Seperating the students who sit together and/or around each other and moving students who sit in the back to the front and the one's who sit in the front to the back - has resulted in positive results. I strongly recommend the use of the course syllabus. Everyone learns and remembers at their own pace and will have the syllabus to refer back to when needed. It will also let the student know exactly what they can expect from the class and the instructor.
I believe in setting rules and expectations for the very beginning of class, and also give updates on class grades at the end of each week.
An instructor needs to have strong expectations and procedures. I have seen classrooms where there were strong expectations and procedures and things still get out of hand because the concequences for broken rules were not strong enough for the situation.
