Stress Management

I need to implement and practice ways to reduce stress at work and at home.  Take time for myself and create a plan for getting things completed.

CA101

I like the idea of identifying my own strengths and weaknesses. It is vital to identify things that are going well but also to identify areas of improvement within myself. This allows me to create an action plan to address these concerns and continually monitor my progress and make adjustments as needed.

Understanding Management/Supervisor Role

In being a manager or supervisor,  leading with great actions will allow your team/organization to accomplish goals that a set forth. Employees will be willing to share ideas and or time to make sure projects are done properly.  When your actions are positive,  Employees will respond in a positive manner.

Making good choices

Managing Workplace Challenges

As we are trying to manage workplace challenges, we need to keep some key things in mind. Staying calm and fully analyzing the situation in front of us before we just blindly react. Making sure we can effectively define whatever challenge or problem we are facing will help us know what goals we need to set or what steps we need to take to not only manage these challenges but overcome them positively.

I agree with the phrase "Actions speak louder than words". If you are consistently showing up, and going above and beyond at work, your employees and coworkers will follow suit. It is important that we as workers hold ourselves to a higher standard and continue to better ourselves, as it will help improve our work.

I plan to make sure I set better goals for myself, and work hard to achieve those specific goals.

Be the leader you want your leaders to be. Don't skip steps and have integrity when submitting data/assignments.

What I do!

I believe consistency is key when you're in the classroom. If the kids know what to expect, then can are used to it and will know what to expect. A challenge that I have faced is that the student sometimes think that I am a friend rather than the teacher, so I have to make to sure to set boundaries with the students so they know.

Lead by example

Will lead students by example and hold them to the same standards as myself.

Effective plan

I love the thought of listing your strengths and weaknesses , and being more detailed about them. It can help keep it clear and not so broad. When you have high expectations, with details and dates it can motivate you to accomplish help turn those weaknesses into strengths.

Loved this training

I have instituted some subtle changes to my weekly organization so that I can accomplish goals and discover which tasks that I was not able to complete. Once I adapted these changes I have been able to notice what causes me to procrastinate as well as what makes my goals easier to meet.

Stress - Color/Feelings Wheel

The course's suggestions made me think of the Color/Feelings Wheel, a tool that has helped me feel grounded when I start to feel overwhelmed by stress, and I like to share this tool with my students when they share with me they are feeling stressed. While looking at the Color/Feelings Wheel, I ask three guiding questions: 1) What am I feeling right now? 2) What do I want to feel? 3) What do I think I need to do to help me feel that way? I feel the questions help remind me to step back and reflect, to work on… >>>
